Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins will be the center of attention on Thursday, but another quarterback that could change the landscape of the league is Josh Rosen. He could be on the move very soon if the Arizona Cardinals select another signal-caller this week.
Rosen only has one year in the NFL under his belt, yet there have been rumors that his time in Arizona could be over. The franchise underwent major changes this offseason, which was highlighted by the hire of Kliff Kingsbury.
In his rookie season at the professional level, Rosen threw for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Obviously those statistics are underwhelming, but he did have to deal with two different offensive coordinators.
Even though Arizona might be ready to ship Rosen out of town, the Miami Dolphins could have interest in revitalizing the former UCLA product’s career.
Peter King of NBC Sports is reporting that Miami has done the most research on Rosen leading up to the draft.
“No team in the league — from what I’ve heard — has spent more time researching Josh Rosen in recent weeks than Miami,” King said.
If the Cardinals really want to select Murray with the No. 1 overall pick, then Rosen will be on the trading block.
As of right now, Ryan Fitzpatrick would be the starter for the Dolphins. Rosen would have plenty of opportunities in the AFC East to reach his potential.
We’ll learn Rosen’s fate in Arizona on Thursday.
