The 2018 Ryder Cup kicked off earlier this morning with the golfers taking the course in Paris. First event action teed off at 2:10 a.m. ET so here's what you missed while you were sleeping.

Tiger Woods was paired with Patrick Reed as the two took on Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood. The Europeans used a strong finish to take the win 3 and 1.

However, that's the only American group that would lose as the twosomes of Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka, and Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth all won their respective matches.

Here was the first shot of the tournament.

The United States hold a 3-1 advantage as the groups take the course once again for the fourball event of the tournament. Tiger Woods won't be on the course for the U.S. this time around, but he'll surely be back for Saturday's events.

Stay tuned for the latest from the Ryder Cup.
