Kentucky, the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, is without star forward P.J. Washington in its opening NCAA Tournament game against No. 15 seed Abilene Christian this evening.

So far, that's been no problem for the 15th-seeded Wildcats.

Kentucky thoroughly dominated Abilene Christian in the first half of this evening's first round NCAA Tournament contest.

It's No. 2 Kentucky 39, No. 15 Abilene Christian 13 through 20 minutes.

It's the fewest points Kentucky has ever allowed in the first half of an NCAA Tournament game.

It's the fewest points Kentucky has allowed in a half since 2014.

"Fewest points we've ever given up in a half in NCAA Tournament history and the fewest points we've given up in any half since holding UCLA to seven points in the first half of the 83-44 win on Dec. 20, 2014," Kentucky announced.

The second half will begin shortly on CBS.
