The consensus for Thursday’s NBA Draft is that there’s a clear top three – Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and R.J. Barrett – and then a bit of a dropoff from No. 4 on.
So, with the New York Knicks slotted at No. 3 overall, it’s been concluded that Barrett will be the selection.
The former Duke star has even admitted that he wants to be in New York.
“This is the place I want to be,” he said after working out for the Knicks.
RJ Barrett: “This is the place I want to be.” Barrett says the Knicks are the only team he’ll work out with and meet with before the draft. https://t.co/W5YpCHM1ag

The Knicks are reportedly considering a surprising move at No. 3 overall, however. New reports suggest someone other than Barrett is in play.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reports that Darius Garland is in “serious consideration” for the No. 3 pick. He’s reportedly in New York for a workout tomorrow.
Darius Garland will conduct a last-minute workout in Tarrytown with the New York Knicks tomorrow, a source told ESPN. Garland is in serious consideration for the No. 3 pick. Minnesota, Boston, Chicago are teams looking at potentially trading up to No. 4 with Garland in mind.

Knicks insider Marc Berman, meanwhile, believes that Garland is only a candidate for New York if the franchise trades down.
Knicks simply doing due diligence with Vanderbilt point guard Darius Garland in working him out today. He's more an "if-they-trade-down'' guy. Garland's agent is Rich Paul and he has claimed to be best PG in draft. Vanderbilt's John Jenkins and Luke Kornet raved about him.

The NBA Draft is a little more than two days away and we’re likely to hear a lot more speculation over the next 48 hours.
