The Latest Injury Update On Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette

leonard fournette leaves the game with an injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars won last week's game against the New England Patriots without standout running back Leonard Fournette. Fournette missed the contest after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the New York Giants.

While Jacksonville made the wise move sitting Fournette last week, the team obviously hopes to get him back soon. He is a key component to their offense and was a top-10 pick in 2017.

Fortunately, it looks like Fournette is close to returning. He will practice today, which is an excellent sign.

The Jaguars announced Fournette intends to practice when they released a list of players who will appear on the injury report today. Fournette's name is there, but there's no asterisk next to it, which would indicate he is sitting out.

Today is the first of three practice days for the Jags this week.

We'll have to wait until this afternoon to learn how much Fournette was able to do in practice. It would make sense if he was limited in some way.

T.J. Yeldon, who played most of the snaps in place of Fournette against the Patriots, is out of practice with an ankle injury. If he and Fournette can't play on Sunday, Corey Grant will become the team's featured back.

The 2-0 Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
