The new-look Detroit Lions are reportedly set to add yet another new face to their roster in 2021.

Through his fourth NFL season with the Cardinals in 2020, Gonzalez put together an up-and-down stat line. In addition to his 6/6 record on field goals within 40 yards, the 26-year-old kicker out of Arizona State went 8/13 (61.6%) from 40-49 yards and 2/3 from 50+ for a total 72.7 field goal percentage. He also went 38/39 on extra points (97.4%).
His best NFL season came the year before in 2019, logging an 88.6% field goal percentage on 31/35 kicks.
Gonzalez was placed on the injured reserve and missed the final three games of the 2020 season with a back injury. The Cardinals cut the former 224th overall draft pick just days before the start of the new league year in March.
The Lions have essentially engaged in a kicker swap with Arizona. Earlier this offseason, two-time Pro Bowl kicker Matt Prater, who spent the last seven years in Detroit, signed a two-year, $6.5 million deal with the Cardinals.
Prater also struggled last season with a 75.0 field goal percentage and three missed extra points.
