Once again, the officiating is playing a major factor in a game between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints. And, once again, the Saints are the team being harmed by it.
New Orleans just had a touchdown taken off the board when the officials inexplicably blew a play dead.
The Saints scooped up a fumble from Rams quarterback Jared Goff and returned it for a score. The officials, though, decided to blow the play dead, thinking it was an incomplete pass.
The play was reviewed and it was determined that Goff did fumble (which was obvious to anyone watching). However, because the play was blown dead, the Saints’ touchdown didn’t count. New Orleans got the ball deep in its own territory.
Saints fans aren’t happy.
That’s a fumble it’s not even close. And Cam returned for six. NFL refs really out there again with this garbage for Rams v Saints smh

That's an obvious fumble, not a pass by Goff. Clear recovery by Saints, touchdown. Now, did a whistle prematurely blow?

Cam Jordan was running, running & that’s a stinking fumble by Goff. Y’all refs better not do this to the Saints again.

That’s a fumble!!!
Terrible terrible call!
How/why did they blow that dead?!?!?

That’s a fumble.
Leave the play play out..
That’s terrible. That should have a been a TD for Saints. Pure incompetence . This league continues to put up with this stupidity on a weekly basis.

This was the play:
Lol refs screwed the Saints over again vs the Rams. This should’ve been a fumble returned for a TD. Instead, incomplete pass. pic.twitter.com/d0lkQljYQ4

That’s a pretty clear fumble. And, even if you’re not sure if you’re a referee, blowing the play dead makes no sense. You can let it play out and, if replay determines it was an incomplete pass, no harm is done.
New Orleans and Los Angeles are tied, 3-3, late in the first half.
