The New York Yankees don't have a ton of reliable starting pitching behind Gerrit Cole heading into the 2022 season.

On Sunday, the Yankees announced a signing that could potentially help that lack of depth.

Shelby Miller, a former All-Star pitcher, has agreed to a minor league contract with the AL East franchise.

Miller, 31, was an All-Star for the Atlanta Braves in 2015. He's since played for the Diamondbacks, Rangers, Cubs and Pirates.

The 2022 MLB regular season is scheduled to begin in less than two weeks.

New York will look to contend in the AL East.
