On Tuesday afternoon, the No. 4 safety recruit in the 2020 recruiting class announced his commitment.
Lathan Ransom, a four-star safety out of Tuscon, Arizona, took to Twitter to announce his commitment to Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
With the commitment, Ohio State jumped up in the recruiting rankings.
The Buckeyes now sit just behind Clemson – which was on pace to bring home the greatest recruiting class in history.
Ohio State jumped Alabama in the rankings and now own the No. 1 class in the Big Ten as well.

The Buckeyes entered the summer with the No. 3 recruiting class in the Big Ten and were outside the top-15 in overall rankings.
In the past two months, Ryan Day and company have landed five players who have at least four stars – including the No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the country.
It’s been a meteoric rise for the Buckeyes over the past two months. Without Urban Meyer, some questioned if the Buckeyes could recruit with the big dogs.
Ryan Day has answered those questions and then some. He has the Buckeyes in position to remain as the top team in the Big Ten for years to come.
Stay tuned for the latest recruiting news.
