Oh, what a difference a week can make for Tiger Woods. This time last week, the 15-time major champion was slogging through his opening round at The Northern Trust, eventually withdrawing from the tournament due to back problems. Today, he’s firing in birdies at the BMW Championship.
Woods, 43, has birdied two of his first three holes in Round 1.
The birdie on No. 3 came from nearly 40 feet out.
Woods is feeling it.

Woods told reporters prior to the start of the tournament that he was feeling much better ahead of Round 1.
“Way, way better,” Woods said. “It was nice to take those days off and let it calm down and get a bunch of treatment on it. It feels so much better. I played the front nine today and played quite well. It was nice to see. Took the back nine off, chipped and putted quite a bit. It feels a lot better than it did on Friday.”
Hopefully Woods will continue to feel good as the tournament progresses. He likely needs to finish 11th or better to advance.
The BMW Championship is being televised on Golf Channel beginning at 3 p.m.
