The world's best golfers took to Augusta National for the best major of the year. In a stacked field, Tiger Woods headlined the early action.

Woods entered the tournament as one of the favorites, just behind Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

With a major target on his back, Tiger hasn't disappointed through his first nine holes. He birdied No. 2, but missed a short putt for bogey on No. 5 to move to even par for the day.

He bounced back with a birdie at No. 9 and made the turn at one-under.

After the first nine holes, Tiger sits at one-under par for the tournament. His one-under puts him just two shots off the lead, held by Justin Harding and Patton Kizzire.

Woods played solid through the first nine holes. However, his putter failed him several times as he missed short putts for par and birdie in the early going.

Despite his struggles with the putter, Woods has been dominant off the tee. A weakness of his in the past few years, Tigers seems to have found accuracy with his tee shots - which should keep him in contention.

If he can keep finding the fairway off the tee, Tiger should be in good shape moving forward.
