Tiger Woods is playing the Tour Championship this weekend in Atlanta. It is the final tournament before next week's Ryder Cup.

Woods just finished his first round at East Lake Golf Club, and it was an encouraging one. He shot a 65 for the day.

At -5, Woods is currently tied with Rickie Fowler for the lead. He got there in dramatic fashion.

Here's his eagle on 18 to finish with a 65.

Woods finished the first round with four birdies and only one bogey in addition to that eagle. He has been playing excellent golf of late. Woods' recent scoring average is evidence of that.

Woods has not won an event since 2013, but he's put together five top-10 finishes so far this year, including a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship.
