The wrestling and entertainment world at large got quite a scare last week with news that “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair was sent to the hospital for an emergency procedure. But after the latest report from his doctor, it looks like Flair is safely out of harm’s way.
Flair’s wife, Wendy, told TMZ Sports this week that Flair’s surgery over the weekend was a success. The nature of his medical procedure was not revealed.
Per the report, though, Flair has been dealing with “heart issues” recently. He has the heart condition alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which developed following years of alcohol abuse.
Luckily, Wendy stated that Flair is back in good spirits and talking with friends again. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The 16-time world champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008, the night before he wrestled his final match for the company. He lost to Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XXIV, then spent the better part of the next five years in the independent circuit and with rival promotion TNA Wrestling.
Flair returned to WWE in 2012 in various non-wrestling roles. However, he most-recently appeared at Wrestlemania 35 during Triple H’s match against Batista.
Get well soon Ric!
