We've reached that point in the 2022 NFL Draft when the conversation is starting to shift to Tom Brady.
Brady, of course, was taken by the New England Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Six other quarterbacks were taken before him. The rest is history.
The NFL quarterback has won seven Super Bowls. Perhaps even more remarkable is the fact he's still playing — at 44 years of age.
On Saturday, Brady tipped his cap to all the prospects who'll get selected in the sixth round.
"A good place to find guys with a chip on their shoulder," he said.
Brady would know. Six quarterbacks went before him in the 2000 NFL Draft. Those six included: Chad Pennington, Giovanni Carmazzi, Chris Redman, Tee Martin, Marc Bulger and Spergon Wynn. Pennington and Bulger had strong NFL careers; the other four were busts.
Who knows? Maybe a quarterback taken late in this year's draft can follow in Brady's footsteps and become a star. You certainly can't rule it out with the career Brady has had.
