The top of The Masters leaderboard heading into the third round on Saturday was flooded with previous major champions, from Tiger Woods to Dustin Johnson to Brooks Koepka.

So far, though, it's been Tony Finau dominating the course.

Finau, 29, has never won a major tournament, though he finished fifth at the U.S. Open last year, came in 10th in The Masters and finished in ninth place at The Open.

So, maybe he's due. He's certainly playing like it today.

Finau has surged to the top of the leaderboard. He's now 9-under par after tying The Masters' front nine record with a 30.

Finau had arguably the shot of the tournament on the eighth hole, when he nearly shot it in from two.

Finau is now 9-under par and leads a group of players tied at 8-under.

The Masters are being televised on CBS.
