Former Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Troy Aikman has reacted to the latest contract news regarding the franchise’s current QB, Dak Prescott.
Prescott is not holding out, though he’s negotiating for a new contract as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.
The latest reports indicate that Prescott has asked for $40 million/season. Of course, that doesn’t mean Prescott will only sign for $40 million/year or more (in all likelihood, he’s seeking a deal in the $32 million to $35 million range), though it’s still a striking number.
Aikman, who never made more than $16 million/season ($24.6 million adjusted for inflation), reacted on Twitter.
“As the great Bob Dylan once wrote ‘The times they are a-changin”’ he tweeted.

That sums it up pretty well.
Prescott might not be one of the NFL’s truly elite quarterbacks, though he’s produced well on a minimal contract, and is in position to negotiate for a huge deal.
The Cowboys will probably end up meeting him in the middle somewhere.
