An ugly scene unfolded during Saturday's matinee between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees.

After New York walked it off with thanks to a Gleyber Torres pinch-hit, Yankees fans could be seen getting into it with members of the Guardians outfield.

Fans even began throwing objects onto the field at Guardians players, prompting both ballclubs to head out to the wall and ask them to stop hurling things:

The Yankees fans actions caused quite the stir on Twitter. "If you are one of the people that threw garbage on the field please unfollow me," a Yanks fan tweeted. "You are the scum of this earth. [Expletive] you."

"New York, Philly, Boston, and LA easily the worst of the worst fan bases," commented another user.

"Complete losers," another said.

"Yankees fans man."

"Yankee fans in a nutshell," said another. "Pathetic."

"Absolutely scumbags, worst fans in sports," replied a Sox fan.

"The worst."

"Literally they are trash."

"At least a couple of their players have the kind of class their fans are missing," tweeted a Cleveland fan.

"The only time I ever will agree with Jared," commented a diehard Yankees fans.

Even Yankees play-by-play announcer John Sterling called the act "disgraceful."

Not the best showing after what should've been an exciting walk-off win.
