The wild 2019-20 men's college basketball season continued on Wednesday evening. A top-five team went down on the road.

Louisville, No. 5 in the latest top 25 poll and a contender for a top-two seed in the NCAA Tournament, lost to unranked Georgia Tech on Wednesday night. The Cardinals fell to the Yellow Jackets, 64-58, in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech was led by guard Jose Alvarado, who poured in 18 points in the upset win over Louisville. The Cardinals shot just 33.9 percent from the field in the loss.

Georgia Tech's defense stifled Louisville, which had one of its worst offensive performances of the season. The Cardinals were 19 for 56 from the field and 3 for 24 from the 3-point line.

Louisville fell to 21-4 with the loss. Georgia Tech improved to 12-13 with the upset victory.

The loss ends a 10-game winning streak for Louisville. The Cardinals are now just a half game up on Duke in the ACC standings.

Louisville will look to bounce back on Saturday vs. Clemson.
