With all that has taken place in the last two years, you can forgive a person, even a world-class athlete like Alex Morgan, for losing track of time.
After Morgan's first game as a member of the NWSL's San Diego Wave last Saturday, the two-time World Cup champion had a viral miscue in the postgame press conference.
Morgan briefly forgot what year she was in, saying that "for a lot of us, it was the first game of 2020...whatever year we're in."
She quickly recovered and said 2022, and had some fun with herself on social media as a clip of the quote began spreading.
It looks like Morgan has her calendar all straightened out now.
As long as she remembers that 2023 is the next Women's World Cup and the next Olympics are set for 2024, U.S. soccer should be okay.
