Earlier this offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made the bold move to trade for star big man Anthony Davis.
In return for Davis, the New Orleans Pelicans received Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball as well as several first-round picks.
A flurry of activity has changed the landscape of the NBA since, but the Lakers remain one of the top threats to win the NBA title.
On Saturday afternoon, the Lakers officially announced the trade and Davis as the newest member of the organization.
During his press conference, Davis revealed how he found out about the trade.
The 26-year-old was in a movie when he received a call from agent Rich Paul. Like any good movie-going patron, Davis declined the call.
It wasn’t until after a few more calls from Paul that Davis took to Instagram to discover he had been traded.

The Lakers will open the season as the favorite to take home the NBA title this season. After missing the playoffs in 2018-19, Los Angeles is primed to make a run at the Western Conference playoffs.
LeBron and Davis form one of the best duos in the league. However, they’ll have to compete with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the city of Los Angeles.
