Few things in sports are more awkward than a Bill Belichick press conference. Tonight’s was especially uncomfortable.
The New England Patriots lost to the Houston Texans, 28-22, on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
Belichick, unsurprisingly, was in no mood to talk a lot following the win. One especially awkward moment has gone viral on social media.
The Patriots’ head coach was asked about the illnesses that the team dealt with this week and if they had any effect on the game’s outcome.
“I don’t know,” a somber Belichick replied.
Then…silence. Nobody wanted to ask the Patriots’ head coach a question.

Belichick’s press conference was a short one, lasting a little more than two minutes.
Belichick with a strange presser, not a lot of questions, but a ton of awkward silence, always fun. pic.twitter.com/Gy5BWL6zua

It’s late and the Patriots have a long flight home, so maybe everyone was just ready to get out of the stadium as quickly as possible.
