A Chicago Cubs pitcher was carted off the field this afternoon after suffering an injury during pregame warmups.
Steve Cishek, a 32-year-old relief pitcher for the Cubs, appeared to get hit in the shin by a ball during warmups in Colorado.
The relief pitcher had to be carted off the field.

Details surrounding the injury are sparse at this point.

Cishek had been one of the Cubs’ best relief pitchers this season, with a 3.21 ERA and six saves on the year.
The Cubs (37-29) are set to play the Rockies at 3:10 p.m. E.T.
