On Thursday afternoon, Dale Earnhardt and his wife, Amy, were involved in a plane crash in Tennessee. The former NASCAR star and his wife were reportedly uninjured when their plane crashed at the Elizabethton Airport.
According to multiple reports, five people were aboard the plane, including the Earnhardt’s family dog. All members of the crew and those aboard the plane made it out.
Dale’s sister, Kelley, released a statement about the crash and the family’s health.
“I can confirm Dale, Amy & Isla along with his two pilots were involved in a crash in Bristol TN this afternoon. Everyone is safe and has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
It’s one thing to hear about the crash. It’s quite another to see the extent of the damage. Video shows the plane engulfed in smoke as fire ravages the fuselage.

The plane reportedly ran off the runway before catching fire. Photos after the accident show the entire back of the plane eaten away from the flames.
Luckily, no one was seriously injured in the crash.
