It’s not often that you get a photo finish at the end of a 26.2 mile race, but that’s what we had at the 2019 Boston Marathon this afternoon.
The race came down to an all-out sprint between two runners, Lawrence Cherono and Lelisa Desisa.
“Desisa had moved into the lead on Hereford Street, then started to pull away on Boylston Street before Cherono caught and passed him,” the Boston Globe reports.
