On Friday night, University of Texas softball pitcher Miranda Elish was hospitalized following a freak play.
She was hit in the face with an errant throw from her catcher - who was trying to make a play at second base. With a runner on first base, Alabama hitter Elissa Brown bunted a pitch right in front of Texas catcher Mary Iakopo.
As Iakopo went to make the throw, the umpire called the play dead after Brown stepped out of the batter's box.
Iakopo fired a throw to second base, but instead of making a play, the ball struck Elish in the head.
She was hospitalized as a precaution, but the Texas crowd received from great news before today's game against Alabama.
Before the game started, Elish's name was announced to the crowd who responded with a standing ovation.
On Saturday, Texas head coach Mike White posted a photo of him sitting next to a smiling Elish - who appears to be in good spirits after the play.
It's great to see her smiling despite the swollen lip.
Elish obviously didn't see the field on Saturday after spending some time in the hospital the night before.
Alabama currently holds a 7-1 lead in the series elimination game.
