Triple plays in baseball are incredibly rare, but usually awesome. The one that the Texas Rangers turned tonight was absolutely insane.
The Rangers were in trouble in the top of the fourth inning tonight. The Los Angeles Angeles held a 6-3 lead and had loaded the bases with one out.
Angels second baseman David Fletcher smoked a ground ball to third base, where the Rangers’ Jurickson Profar made a diving stop. Profar tagged the bag to force out the runner from second, and then tagged the runner on third base for the second out.
He fired the ball to second baseman Rougned Odor to force the runner from first base and complete the triple play.
If that sounds crazy, it looks even wilder on video.
We have no idea what’s going on … but it’s a triple play! pic.twitter.com/7pFGDvJCgj

That is as memorable a triple play as you’ll ever see.
The Rangers trailed in this one 5-0 after the top of the first, but they have cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth.
