LSU, the No. 3 seed in the East Region, gave us our first near buzzer-beater of the 2019 NCAA Tournament today, knocking off No. 6 seed Maryland in Jacksonville.

The referees might've missed a big call on the final shot, though.

LSU guard Tremont Waters made the game-winning layup, sending the Tigers into the Sweet 16, but it looks like he might've traveled before hitting the shot.

Here's the play:

Waters, a 6-foot point guard, appeared to take three full steps after gathering his dribble near the elbow. And that's a travel.

The referees didn't call it, though.

LSU, thanks to a gutsy shot by Waters (and an inability to blow the whistle on a travel by the referees) moves on to the Sweet 16.

The Tigers will play the winner of Michigan State-Minnesota in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.
