With the sixth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Duke quarterback Daniel Jones – much to the chagrin of many Giants fans. But as disappointed as the Giants fan base might be, the friends and family of Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins might give them a run for their money.
Video of Haskins’ draft party shows that his guests did not take kindly to hearing the Giants draft a quarterback that wasn’t from Ohio State. The boos were loud, and the disgust on some of their faces was clear.
As for Haskins himself, he kept his head down with his eyes on his phone. He did chuckle, but it’s hard to tell if that was out of amusement at the pick or something on his screen.
Haskins was widely considered one of the best – if not the best – quarterback prospects in the NFL draft. He had a historic season at Ohio State, leading the team to a 13-1 record while setting countless school and conference records.
As of the 11th pick in the draft, Haskins has yet to be drafted.

No Ohio State quarterback has been taken in the first round of the draft since Art Schlichter went to the Colts in 1982. But it’s very unlikely that Haskins will fall out of the first round entirely.
The Broncos, Dolphins, Raiders, and even the Patriots may be in a position to draft him before the night is through.
Nevertheless, Haskins has to be disappointed for not getting drafted sooner – and many Giants fans can sympathize.
