New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees exited today’s game against the Los Angeles Rams with an injury to his thumb.
Brees, 40, exited the game toward the end of the third quarter and was replaced by backup Teddy Bridgewater.
New Orleans has officially ruled Brees as “questionable” to return, though it doesn’t look good.
Here’s the play during which Brees suffered the injury:

Brees was looked at on the sideline, with doctors checking out his thumb. At this point, his return to the contest seems doubtful.
Drew Brees right hand clipped Aaron Donald's hand on his last throw of their second drive…
Out of the break they showed on TV that Brees had Saints trainers looking at his right thumb.

The Saints and the Rams are tied, 3-3, in a rematch of last year’s epic NFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, injuries have put quite a damper on this one.
New Orleans and Los Angeles are playing on FOX.
