The 2019 Indy 500 is over and it did not disappoint, with the epic race coming down to one final gut-wrenching lap.
Simon Pagenaud made a late charge, taking the lead before the final lap, before holding off the field for the win at the 103rd Running of the Indianapolis 500.
It looked like Alexander Rossi and Takuma Sato might catch Pagenaud, but he was able to stay in the lead for the checkered flag.

Pagenaud took the lead with two laps to go and didn’t look back.
The win gives team owner Roger Penske his 18th Indy 500 title.
It’s been quite a month for Pagenaud, who won the IndyCar Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course earlier in May.
