The Minnesota Vikings have officially announced wide receiver Adam Thielen's status for Thursday night's game against the Washington Redskins. He won't be suiting up on Thursday night following his injury this past Sunday.

Thielen has officially been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Washington Redskins. He's dealing with a hamstring injury.

The wide receiver had reportedly been "lobbying" to play on Thursday, but the team will be taking a cautious approach.

“I’m hoping (to play),” Thielen told Dave Lee of WCCO. “It’s a short week, so I’m doing everything I can and the training staff is doing everything they can to help me get there. The good thing is still have another day, a full day, to recover so we’ll see.”

The Vikings made the decision today to rule Thielen out.

Thielen said on Wednesday that he understood the final decision was not going to be up to him. He said he will respect whatever decision the team makes.

“I am not sure exactly who makes the call, but I trust them to make the right one for this team and for me,” Thielen said.

The Vikings and the Redskins are set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. E.T. on Thursday night. The game will be on FOX and NFL Network.
