Wade Phillips is coming to the defense of one his former players on Tuesday after they were snubbed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Taking to his Twitter, "Son of Bum" had some questions for the Hall's selection committee when it comes to former Cowboys/Broncos pass rusher DeMarcus Ware.

"How is a nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time first team All-Pro; who is [ninth] all-time sack leader in the NFL - 2000’s All-Decade team - 11-time team captain and Super Bowl winner DeMarcus Ware not in NFL HOF?" Phillips asked.

Ware was passed up on by the Hall this month when the 2022 class was announced at the NFL Honors show. One of the preeminent pass rushers of his era, DeMarcus Ware was a menace coming off the edge for the duration of his career. Ware recorded over 10 sacks every year from 2006-2012, including a 20 sack season in '08.

A consummate professional, DeMarcus was always regarded as team leader and pro's pro. Even in the twilight of his career with the Denver Broncos, he was still able to record double-digit sacks in 2014.

Eye-test alone, Wade Phillips is right to question how Ware is not in the HOF. Let alone the accolades.

However, we all know how halls in every sport can be.
