The Golden State Warriors opened as the favorite to win the 2020 NBA title despite a significant injury to Klay Thompson and the uncertainty surrounding Kevin Durant's potential free agency.

On Thursday night, the Warriors were dethroned as champions by the Toronto Raptors, who escaped with a 114-110 win and the title.

The loss is the least of Golden State's concerns heading into the 2019-20 NBA season.

Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in the third quarter of Game 6 when he was fouled hard by Danny Green and came down awkwardly.

Just days before, Kevin Durant suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, which will likely cost him the full 2019-20 season.

Despite all of the injuries and questions about Durant's future with the team, the Warriors are the favorites to take home the 2020 title, according to Caesars.

Not far behind Golden State are the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite not making the playoffs and not landing any other stars to place alongside LeBron James - yet - the Lakers sit with the second-best odds to win the title.

Los Angeles is "engaged" in talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis, but no trade has been made just yet.

Perhaps Vegas knows something we don't, or they're just hedging against future moves via trades and free agency.
