The XFL continues to provide viral sideline interviews during games.
Saturday afternoon, we might have had our best one yet. A player who had just been ejected from the game was interviewed by ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
Houston Roughnecks linebacker DeMarquis Gates was ejected in the fourth quarter of his team’s game against Seattle. Gates, who played collegiately at Ole Miss, was ejected for punching a player in the middle of a fumble recovery pile.

Gates did not immediately leave the stadium, though. Instead, he was on the sideline, signing autographs for fans – and doing an interview with Russini.
The XFL’s Twitter account certainly appeared to be a fan of the situation.
“Interviewing a player as he gets thrown out of the game? THIS is the XFL,” they tweeted.

Gates was able to celebrate a victory following his ejection, too.
Houston beat Seattle, 32-23, to remain undefeated on the year.
