The New York Yankees have some of the most passionate fans in baseball. Unfortunately, they also have some of the dumbest.

According to a report by Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media, a fan was ejected from the game before it even started for criticizing Houston Astros starter Zack Greinke as he warmed up in the bullpen.

It's unclear exactly what that particular fan said, but fans were reportedly hurling insults at Greinke relating to his anxiety issues and depression. They also talked about his mother.

Here's more:

Chants digging at Greinke’s battles with a social anxiety disorder and depression rained down on the 35-year-old right-hander as he threw to a catcher.
Fans leaned over the concrete barrier between the stands and the bullpen and shouted insults about Greinke’s mother, too.

Greinke and the Astros wound up winning the game, 8-3. Greinke pitched well - giving up just one earned run in just over four innings.

As for the fan, he essentially paid a great deal of money for his ticket and didn't even get to see the game - all so he could hurl some insults at a Major League Baseball pitcher. Doesn't sound like a great night.

The Astros lead the series 3-1. They can close it out Friday night.
