With billionaire Elon Musk preparing a massive bid to buy Twitter, millions of people are preparing for the litany of potential changes his takeover might bring. But among sports fans, there's one thing they want from Musk that's getting a lot of buzz.

Since news of Musk's impending purchase crossed the wire, a number of sports fans have started requesting that Musk bring back the sports scoreboard on the timeline. Several years ago, the top of Twitter timelines would display the scores of active games.

Now that function requires going to a separate section of the platform entirely. There isn't even an option to put it on your Twitter timeline.

Given that Twitter is used by every sports fanbase in the world and even broadcasts games on occasion, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring it back. The amount of likes and shares that some of these tweets have gotten shows that pretty clearly.

Elon Musk is one of the wealthiest men in the world and has invested heavily into some of the most lucrative industries. But sports is one area that the man has largely stayed out of from a business standpoint.

If and when his takeover of Twitter is complete, it will be interesting to see how he caters the platform to sports fans.

But there are certainly some things that his team can do to the platform to immediately make it more accessible.

Will Elon Musk bring the sports scoreboard back?
