AJ McCarron is known as one of the classiest players in college football, and his good deeds are well-documented. Tonight, perhaps his best one was covered by ESPN in a wonderful segment: his relationship with assistant equipment manager AJ Starr.
Starr is an Alabama student with cerebral palsy who originally came into contact with McCarron after a Crimson Tide practice. Starr had missed the bus, and McCarron offered him a ride home -- instantly the two connected, and the star quarterback was able to get him a role with the equipment staff. Starr said that he was on the verge of giving up before meeting McCarron, but now considers himself "the luckiest guy in the world" for getting to be a part of the team.
