What Seed Did VCU Get In The 2014 NCAA Tournament?

Seed: For the upcoming 2014 NCAA Tournament, the VCU Rams were given a 5-seed in the South-region. They are coached by Shaka Smart and hail from the Atlantic 10 conference.

You can view the entire 2014 NCAA Tournament field here in our official bracket.

Where: They will open play against Stephen F. Austin in San Diego on Friday.

Why: VCU finished with a 12-4 record in the Atlantic 10, good enough to second place, behind Saint Louis. The Rams posted notable victories over Virginia, Wofford, George Washington and Saint Louis.

Ceiling: VCU, behind its "Havoc" defense, is always a threat under Smart in the NCAAs. In fact, the Rams have won at least one game in the tournament the past three years, even reaching the Final Four in 2011. Treveon Graham & Co. should be around for the second weekend, as least.
