Former Boise State running back/linebacker Dan Paul has tragically passed away, according to the Idaho Statesman. The cause of Paul’s death is unclear, per the Statesman.
Paul played for the Broncos from 2008-12, beginning his career at linebacker before transitioning to fullback. During his time with the Broncos, he caught 14 passes for 95 yards and four touchdowns, carried once for one yard and also intercepted a pass.
Paul’s top performance came in 2009 when he hauled in three passes for 22 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Nevada.
Former Boise State safety and NFL veteran George Iloka paid his respects to his college teammate on Twitter.
“Don’t make no sense bruh smh. Dan was easily one of the most enjoyable people to be around in college,” Iloka wrote. “Rest In Peace Dan.”
