With his season opener against UCF delayed for more than two hours, Boise State quarterback Hank Bachmeier decided to check in on his academic duties.
Bachmeier joined one of his virtual classes, something he would not have been able to attend if the Broncos kicked off at 7 p.m. ET as scheduled. Lightning and storms in the Orlando area resulted in UCF-Boise State being pushed back more than two-and-a-half hours.
The Barstool Boise account posted screenshots of the junior quarterback, in full uniform, zooming into the class from the locker room.
“Rain delay thought I’d join to say hello,” Bachmeier wrote in the group chat.

This is absolutely tremendous. Bachmeier’s classmates had to be totally surprised.
With his focus totally on the field when play finally started, Boise State jumped out to a 7-0 lead on an improbable 100-yard pick-six. Bachmeier, who has started 5-of-8 for 52 yards, then led the Broncos on a touchdown drive, with Andrew Van Buren carrying it in for six points.
