On Wednesday afternoon, Colorado State introduced the program’s new head coach. After the program parted ways with form head coach Mike Bobo, the Rams introduced former Boston College coach Steve Addazio as the team’s new head coach.
“I am excited to welcome Steve Addazio as our new head football coach and his wife, Kathy, to Fort Collins and Colorado State University,” athletic director Joe Parker said in a statement. “Throughout his career, Coach Addazio has been committed to the holistic development of student-athletes and of the programs he has led. He has focused on crafting cultures where his students thrive on the field and in the classroom.”
After reportedly considering several candidates, including LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, Colorado State fans appear to think the program settled for Addazio.
Fans immediately started responding to the Addazio announcement with their displeasure.
Here’s a small sample of the reaction:
This feels like a bad dream

Addazio isn’t a very inspiring hire. In seven seasons as the head coach at Boston College, Addazio compiled a 44-44 record. He never finished a season with more than seven wins and finished four seasons with a 7-6 mark.
Mike Bobo compiled a 28-35 record during his tenure as the Rams’ head coach. Colorado State struggled in his final two season, going 3-9 and 4-8.
Now the program turns to Addazio, who led BC to four-straight bowl games.
