4-Star San Diego State Signee Desean Holmes Is MIA, According to Aztecs Coaching Staff

Four-star wide receiver Desean Holmes is the top player in San Diego State's 2015 class. Unfortunately for the Aztecs, there seem to be serious doubts about whether or not he makes it to campus next week, when freshmen report. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the SDSU staff has not heard from Holmes in three weeks, and have not been able to reach him.

“We cannot find him,” Long said on Tuesday at the Mountain West media days. “The kid won’t answer his phone, won’t call us back. We don’t know where he is.”

Long said staff last spoke to Holmes about three weeks ago to discuss him completing a summer school class that would make Holmes eligible when school begins in September. Since then, numerous calls to Holmes and his foster family have not been returned. SDSU contacted Holmes' current social worker, and Long said that person has not been able to reach Holmes directly. Long said he did not have concerns about Holmes' physical safety.

The 5-foot-10 wide receiver from Pasadena was the No. 17 wide receiver in the 2015 class, according to 247Sports. He has been active on Twitter, retweeting messages as recently as July 25, but has not sent his own tweet since April 29.

We hope Holmes is okay, and makes it to campus next week.
