San Diego State is in major jeopardy of losing its first game of the Mountain West Tournament.
The Aztecs – a projected No. 1 seed in the 2020 NCAA Tournament – are struggling against Air Force in the quarterfinals today. The Falcons currently hold a four-point lead over SDSU in a 37-33 halftime lead.
Air Force came into the MW Tournament as the conference’s No. 9 seed. At just 12-19, the Falcons have no signature wins this season as they lost their lone meeting with the Aztecs in early February. But they got off to a good start in the opening round of the conference tournament on Wednesday with a 77-70 victory over Fresno State.
The Falcons’ good fortune has clearly carried over into today, as they are giving San Diego State all it can handle thus far. If the Aztecs lose this game, they could be in jeopardy of dropping to a two-seed.

This is the fourth-straight game that San Diego State has trailed at halftime.
If the Aztecs do indeed lose to the Falcons today, there’s a strong chance Dayton surpasses SDSU as the fourth No. 1 seed – dropping SDSU to a two-seed in the process.
