NBA fans, many of whom had to endure a tough 2013-2014 season, are filled with hope heading into this year's draft - hope that with the right moves on draft day, their favorite team can compete for a title. Of course, most franchises in the lottery are more than one player away from contending, but hey, you never know. Either way, the draft is set for this Thursday, June 26th at 7:00 PM EST and will be shown on ESPN. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be the first on the clock.
As for who they'll pick - that remains to be seen. Most thought that former Kansas center Joel Embiid was a lock to go No. 1 overall, but he had foot surgery this week and is expected to miss several months. That means that it's likely down to either Andrew Wiggins, Embiid's teammate at KU, or Jabari Parker, Duke's former stud freshman. Cleveland could also trade the pick, if it got a solid enough offer.
The other major storyline of the draft has to do with the Philadelphia 76ers, who have six selections overall. Philly has the No. 3 pick and the No. 10 pick - meaning it could potentially land two stars in the same draft. Make sure to check back to College Spun to see how it all plays out.
