4-Star Wide Receiver KJ Hill Is Third OSU Freshman To Have Black Stripe Removed

Ohio State wide receiver KJ Hill goes up and makes the catch during practice.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has a cool way of letting his freshmen know they've done a great job since arriving to campus, a way to let them know they're now a true OSU football player.

All newcomers begin camp with a black stripe running down the center of their helmets, and they desperately want to get that stripe removed. Having the stripe is not a symbol of failure, by any means, but the removal of said stripe is absolutely a symbol of success - and hopefully things to come. And as OL Isaiah Prince and RB Mike Webber recently found out, it feels pretty good to have it removed.

On Tuesday, wide receiver KJ Hill was the latest Buckeye to have his stripe removed.

Considering that Hill almost (accidentally) ran over one of OSU's coaches during Tuesday's practice, he must of had a really good day to join that list.

Well done, KJ.
