Former Starting QB Trevor Knight Reportedly Granted Full Release By Oklahoma

Former starting quarterback Trevor Knight has been granted a full release from Oklahoma by head coach Bob Stoops, according to

Knight started for Oklahoma in 2014, leading the Sooners to an 8-5 record. But the recent success of transfer quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has led OU to the College Football Playoff, has put Knight's future in Norman on ice, and the junior signal caller has decided to explore other options.

This news probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise to those who follow college football closely. Knight is a capable quarterback, and somebody will be happy to add him to their roster.
