FSU QB Everett Golson Reportedly Did Not Make Trip To Atlanta For Peach Bowl

Florida State quarterback Everett Golson's career as a Seminole has apparently come to an end - and a game earlier than expected.

According to Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post, the former Notre Dame starter did not make the trip to Atlanta, where FSU is set to face Houston in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Golson started the season as the No. 1 quarterback for FSU, but eventually lost the job to Sean Maguire. While he was not slated as the starter for the Seminoles' bowl game, this news definitely comes as somewhat of a surprise. But, according to Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel, Golson had an unfortunate family matter to attend to.
