Hall Of Fame QB Dan Marino Will Be Pitt's Honorary Captain Against Notre Dame

The Pittsburgh-Notre Dame rivalry dates back to 1909, with the Irish leading the all-time series 47-21-1, and the two teams will once against meet Saturday afternoon. And with their rival coming to town, the Panthers are pulling out all the stops.

Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi announced Wednesday afternoon that Pitt legend Dan Marino, who led Pitt to three consecutive top-5 finishes between 1979-1981, will be the team's honorary captain against Notre Dame.

Marino won't be the only Panthers legend in the house for the big game, though. Pitt announced that former great Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, Jim Covert, Bill Fralic, John Majors and Jackie Sherrill will also be in attendance.
