Kirk Herbstreit Fires Back At Ole Miss Fans On Twitter

You'd think Ole Miss fans would be busy celebrating their second consecutive victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide early Sunday morning, but it appears a good amount of them spent their time lashing out at ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

After an unusual amount of Alabama turnovers (5) and a couple bounces that just seemed to go Ole MIss' way, Herbstreit apparently spent time during the broadcast pointing out the fact that the Tide were making mistakes. But Rebels' fans wanted more credit and didn't want to hear about Alabama's mistakes, so they took to Twitter to lash out.

Herbstreit wasn't too happy about it.

It's not out of the ordinary to see analysts getting ambushed on social media, but it's not every day you see one get to the breaking point and do a little lashing out of his own. After his response to Tuoy's tweet, though, Herbstreit felt he may have stepped over the line and apologized. Tuoy accepted.

It can't be easy constantly taking harassment on social media without being able to stand up for yourself. But it's part of the job, and Herbstreit knows he made a mistake striking back.
