Oklahoma's Buddy Hield Named 2016 John R. Wooden Award-Winner

A special season led to one of the biggest honors in all of college basketball Friday night for Oklahoma's Buddy Hield.

Leading the Sooners to the Final Four for the first time since 2002 this past season, Hield was on a rampage all season, setting himself up to be a top-10 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. On Friday, he was honored with the John R. Wooden Award, given annually to the most outstanding player in college basketball.

Hield averaged 25 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2 assists this past season.
